Oakton High School sophomore Aline Dolinh was recognized as a National Student Poet for the class of 2013.
The student poets program award recognizes one student from each of the five regions of the country. The award is sponsored by the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers.
“What really amazes me about poetry is that it can be a vehicle for so many different ideas,” Dolinh said in a blog post on the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers website.
