Flint Hill Robotics Takes Top Honors
At qualifying event Sunday, team outpaces competitors by 65 points, wins "inspire" award.
The Flint Hill School's robotics team took the top two spots Sunday at a FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) qualifying event at Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. The three Flint Hill teams at the event competed against nine other schools from across Virginia and Maryland. The victory was a practice round, so to speak, for the 17 Flint Hill students on the team as they look toward Virgina's qualifying tournament Jan. 19. There, students will vie for a spot at the organization's February regional tournament, and then, national competition later this spring.
