Oakton Orchestras Experience Impressive Year
Oakton string players demonstrate talent at local, state and national levels
After sending a record number of students to the Senior Regional Orchestra in October 2011, Oakton High School’s orchestra program continued its streak of success with additional notable achievements to top off its year. "I continue to be amazed at the talent exhibited by the string players at Oakton," director Debra Myers said. "They have made so much progress and it is an absolute pleasure to teach them." For the past four years, Oakton High has had five orchestra members pass a competitive audition process and qualify for All-State orchestra.
