The Oakton Wine Shop donated a portion of the Spring Fling sales to the Remission Riders.
The Remission Riders held a fundraiser for the 7th annual Lymphoma Research Foundation Bike Ride at Oakton Wine Shop on March 9. She is in full remission due to being able to participate in a clinical research trial. Suzanne Zolldan’s husband, John, was diagnosed 22 years ago and continues to be in remission, and other members of the team have had family and friends with lymphoma. However, lymphoma has a high rate of recurrence, and the Lymphoma Research Foundation is looking for a cure. Festival kicks off Thursday with a tasting of beers from five breweries
Bryan Gauthier opened Oakton Wine Shop a year ago with a dream to create a gathering place for the Oakton community. With successful wine tastings each weekend, regular clientele and the distinction as Oakton's favorite small-business retail shop in an Oakton Patch Readers' Choice poll, Gauthier is proud the customers have exceeded his expectations. "Fridays and Saturdays this tends to be the place to be, especially for our tastings. Our festivals are outrageously big," Gauthier said. "We've brought in local charities which is been a great benefactor to us, and we're glad to help within our own community." This weekend, he will celebrate its success so far with a three-day festival to thank his customers for embracing him and his Hunter …

Oakton Wine Shop's Bryan Gauthier offers wine suggestions for the holidays
It is nice to have good wines finally available for Passover. After so many years of having very sweet and fruity wines, wine lovers can rejoice knowing that there are other options to have for Passover. Here are a few of our favorites: Passover: (all kosher wines) For most, Easter dinner will feature either ham or lamb for dinner, two foods for which you want something more on the mild side. Here are a few suggestions: Easter:

When I think about cancer, I think about the people in the world who have done the most innovative things to treat it and succeeded at it, then I look at what they're up to nowadays. Follow the doctors who succeed. No need to play guessing games. My top following is the guy who built a cancer treatment and sold it for $6.5 BILLION (Erbitux, one of the top head and neck cancer treatments today). I…   more ›
