Volleyball, soccer and football all win Saturday

Flint Hill School celebrated its annual Homecoming festivities Saturday, hosting four different varsity competitions along with various carnival games and activities. The Huskies ended the day with victories in the volleyball, girls soccer, boys soccer and football competitions: The day's festivities, which ended with the Homecoming Dance, were a culmination of Spirit Week. Football: Cougars Suffer First Loss on Homecoming

Oakton High's win streak snapped after 42-21 loss to Chantilly

After starting the season 6-0, the Oakton High football team lost its first game of the season after a 42-21 loss to Chantilly on Friday night.  Senior running back Mike Wandey tallied 175 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Cougars, but it would not be enough to lead them to a Homecoming victory on Friday. The Chargers opened scoring with the clock at 5:43 in the first quarter on a 1-yard run. With a little more than a minute left in the quarter, quarterback Kyle Downer, who rushed 102 total yards, ran in the Cougars' first touchdown. The Chargers then added another touchdown as the clock ran out in the first quarter to put the score at 14-7. Oakton Homecoming: Twins Win King, Queen

Nestor and Naomi Folta crowned during Homecoming game's halftime

Oakton High students cast their votes for the 2012 Homecoming queen and king, handing the titles to twins Naomi and Nestor Folta. The Foltas were crowned during halftime of the Cougars' Homecoming game against their rival, Chantilly Chargers. After the first quarter, the Oakton High cheerleaders led the student section in flash mob dance to "Starships" by Nicki Minaj. Flint Hill Homecoming: Students Show Off Spirit

Students, faculty participate in Spirit Week ahead of Saturday's Homecoming games

Flint Hill School students showed their school pride this week, participating in Spirit Week ahead of this weekend's Homecoming festivities. Students of both the Lower and Upper schools dressed up for theme days throughout the week: USA Pride, Wacky-Tacky, Favorite Character and Class Color Day. On Tuesday, each class decorated a doghouse to be put on display on the school's campus through Saturday.  Today, students will host a pep rally, Powderpuff game and bonfire to get the school community pumped for several fall teams' matchups for Homecoming. Four varsity teams will compete Saturday: As the athletes compete, spectators can play carnival games, engage in sports competitions or take the "Adrenaline Rush" mega inflatable challenge …
