Mary Wan, 14, of Herndon, took part in a Master Class with Brian Ganz at Strathmore on Friday, Feb. 3. Mary is originally from Shanghai, China, and came to Virginia when she was 7 years old. She is currently a freshman at Flint Hill School in Oakton. Ganz is a highly regarded pianist who is on a quest to perform all of Fryderyk Chopin's works over the next decade. He is performing a concert at Strathmore on Feb. 11.

Congratulations Mary! Brian Ganz himself at one point in time studied with Leon Fleisher. I recently attended a lecture and performance by Leon Fleisher who talked about his classes with Artur Schnabel.
