I thought this was beautiful!
Todd Richissin (Editor) April 19, 2014 at 09:59 am
I agree, Barbara. A wedding is for celebrating, and from the reaction of the newlyweds andRead More congregation, this looks like a good start to any marriage.

Perhaps this was all meant as a horribly misguided homage to Vincent van Gogh. In the days to come,Read More we may read of a lucky lady—or gent—receiving a parcel containing the rapper’s severed appendage and a note inscribed with the words: “Take it, it will be useful.”

I fail to see what this guy's race or politicial affiliation has to do with what he did. He looksRead More white to me (so the "third-world" comment doesn't make sense), and the "Obozocare" comment is absolutely ridiculous. You can blame the video games, but this guy had an underlying reason for what he did. You have to have a lot of patience to deal with a baby. They cry. They screw up your life if you really haven't grown up. I was appalled that he is being charged with third-degree murder, but I don't think he meant to kill his son. He just wasn't mature enough to be a father.
tamarya April 19, 2014 at 12:33 pm
Well pam that is where i was getting with my comment. Time people grow the hell up! There is noRead More reason a 24 yr old MAN should be too immature to raise a baby. Start teaching these young adults to be young adults, not 2 yr old babies. In high school is where it can start.

What a doofus, he shoulda bought a Playstation instead of an Xbox.
Silver Line still not complete. (Patch file photo.)
Walter Hadlock April 19, 2014 at 09:51 am
With so many fingers in the Silver Line pie, Mr. Nowakowski is probably glad to be on his way. ThatRead More said, he was the project manager, and he did not do a very good job managing the project. Cost was a major factor in deciding to put the line above ground at Tysons--blame the politicians, etc. on that choice as well as the fiasco that is the station location at Dulles. Users of the Dulles Toll Road had a legitimate complaint about the tolls being increased to pay the largest percentage of the cost, and that affected the line's design. I can only say that people like Rob Whitfield are being proved correct in their writings about the Silver Line's development. It really is a Tysons Corner relief project, but who really will use it to get there? The stations along Route 7 are located in places that probably won't see much in the way of Transit Oriented Development for years; there isn't any parking, well, except for a temporary lot near Rt. 123; and I really don't expect the one percenters who shop at Tysons, or who will live in the pricey residences, to make much use, if at all, of the line. Bill Strandberg, above, made a good comment about Dulles. It doesn't seem to matter if Mr. Nowakowski did a good job or not, his new, as yet unidentified employer, is willing to take a chance with him.

Leftists 'fail up' makes perfect sense, heck, Hillary was lauded for Benghazi.
John Lovaas April 19, 2014 at 11:35 am
Given all the problems and sleaziness on the Board of MWAA, it is hard to sort out what contractingRead More and construction screwups may be attributable to Mr. Nowakowski and which to the Board or others. Nowakowski was often unresponsiive in sharing information with and engaging in dialogue with the community. Change at that position may be good idea for all concerned. Now replace Tom Davis with someone less blatantly political and maybe phase two will go more smoothly.

Far from bitter ex. Just stating very well known facts about the Worthingtons. This ear eater wasRead More also just in the news for assaulting his girlfriend and his brother for manufacturing crystal meth. And for the father, he was known for getting lucky with his young staff while his wife was at home. Shockingly he is now divorced but still sleeping with his salon staff. The salon even made the news this week for employing a massage therapist arrested for inappropriate fondling. It's time the community stop turning a blind eye because daddy has money.
user April 19, 2014 at 02:57 pm
If this kid's dad wasnt who he is, eating an ear would be ALL OVER the news. I've seen much smallerRead More stories get national air time. Daddy is just paying everyone off AGAIN.

NO -----SHE DESERVES WHAT SHE GOT..- She STABBED STABBED STABBED..she should have gotten the deathRead More penalty.....but michigan has only life in prison. Don't have sympathy for her just because she's a woman. She's a cold blooded killer and deserves what she got.
RON Ostrodamus April 19, 2014 at 03:11 am
The death penalty certainly cuts down on the record number of incarcerations in America. Enough ofRead More this liberal crap on humane punishment. The word "humane' never enters the minds of these cold blooded killers. What is going to happen if another bombing takes place outside of Texas? What is going to happen with the next airplane hijacking, or Boston?
DDB April 19, 2014 at 07:29 am
Don, the comments were made at sentencing, not at trialso it hss no bearing on her conviction.

Well, that's just about right, the average of the top 10 CEO salaries in VA is 390x that of theRead More average worker salary of $45,000. US Avg is 475x. Don't know why the average worker is complaining about wage stagnation and lack of jobs. Poor CEOs must work so hard to keep all that money out of the tax man's hands and the grubby hands of the worker! How can they possibly survive otherwise?

Igor April 19, 2014 at 09:39 am
HF the charges were dropped. There is a problem because and I quote from the Patch"Lewis saysRead More he never noticed "No Free Re-Fill" signs and admits he had refilled his drink without paying on other occasions" and "On-site construction worker Chris Lewis told WCSC News he didn't know refills at the VA Medical Center in downtown Charleston weren't free."Where did you read that he knew he had to pay for it? No where in the article does he said he knew it.

Horses should not be nose to exhaust pipe on city streets. That is cruelty and the horse had hadRead More enough.
kathleen macmurray April 17, 2014 at 08:46 am
A horse and carriage ride in a park, fine. But not on busy, crowded city streets. It's cruel to theRead More horse and dangerous to everyone else. I'm with the NYC mayor on this one.
