Daily Baseball Update: 8/9

Jason Bay is featured with his milestone home run, Dan Uggla keeps rolling, and the Pirates won a game for the first time since anyone can remember.

Did You Know

Yesterday, Jason Bay hit his 200th career home run. Being that he had 185 going into the 2010 season, a lot of people thought that he would have hit No. 200 a long time ago. After hitting 36 home runs in 2009, he hit just 6 in 2010 and now only has 9 in 2011. There is one high point for Bay; he is on a 10-game hitting streak in which he is batting .447.

8/9/1975: Davey Lopes steals his 32nd consecutive base without being caught, setting the new record by breaking Max Carey's 53-year-old record. Current A's reliever and owner of 199 saves is also born on the day of the historic stolen base. Vince Coleman would break Lopes' record in 1989.
