Daily Baseball Update: 8/27

Matt Kemp made history and A.J. Burnett has earned a the same spot on my update for his second start in a row. Nelson Cruz and Chris Capuano had some of the best games of their careers.

Did You Know

Upon reaching the 30-30 mark, Matt Kemp became the 35th player in history to do so. He is also only the second Dodger, as Raul Mondesi reached the mark in 1997. Kemp has already had a better season in terms of those statistics, as Mondesi went 30 HR-32 SB and Kemp is 30-33.

8/27/1977: For the only time in baseball history, back-to-back inside-the-park home runs on back-to-back pitches. Rangers' third baseman Toby Harrah blasts a three run inside-the-parker, then teammate Bump Wills hits his second home run of the game on the next pitch. Yankee Ken Clay serves up both inside-the-parkers. The outburst helps future Hall of Famer Bert Blyleven to his 120th career victory.
