Daily Baseball Update: 10/23: World Series

The critics predicted that Game 3 would be when the offenses broke out, and boy were they right.

Record of the Day

Most home runs in a World Series game: Albert Pujols, Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson, 3.

With Albert Pujols' third home run yesterday, he tied Babe Ruth and Reggie Jackson for most home runs in a World Series game. Ruth did it twice, Jackson did it on three consecutive swings, and Pujols threw in two singles and 6 RBI. Not only was Pujols the first player to hit two home runs, 4 hits, and 5 RBI in a World Series game, but he added a solo shot to make it 3 home runs, 5 hits and 6 RBI. His offensive outburst yesterday rivals him against Don Larsen for the greatest single game performance in a World Series game.
