Fall is in the air this weekend as temperatures drop slightly on Saturday and Sunday, with temperatures in the 70s during the day and lows in the 40s at night, according to the National Weather Service. Expect sunny skies.
The Vale United Methodist Church is hosting a Fall Festival from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday on 11528 Vale Road in Oakton. The festival includes a picnic, moon bounce, face painting and balloon animals.

It’s a special trip back in time with the Colonial Market and Fair at Mount Vernon on Saturday and Sunday. “General Washington” will be overseeing Revolutionary War drills. The event includes artisans demonstrating their crafts and selling a variety of goods. Potomac River sightseeing cruises also will be available for free. Entertainment will include music, sword-swallowing, fire-eating and more.
