Heat Advisory Continues as Temps Climb To 100

National Weather Service issues warning for second day through 10 p.m.

Following a Wednesday that brought temperatures into the 90s, Thursday will see readings of up to 100 degrees —and heat index values that will likely reach 105— as a heat advisory continues until 10 p.m. across Northern Virginia and Fairfax County.

The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity puts those who are outdoors for an extended period of time, as well as groups like children and the sick, disabled or elderly, at risk for heat exhaustion and other heat-related illnesses, the advisory says.
