The Oakton High School girls lacrosse team rebounded from last week's loss in the Concorde District final to win Tuesday in the first round of the Northern Region Playoffs.

Just a few days after falling short of the Concorde District crown in a 14-13 loss to Westfield, Oakton bounced back for a 14-6 victory over West Springfield in the first round of the Northern Region Tournament.
The Cougars, the defending state champs now standing at 9-5, go on to play at 7 p.m. Thursday against Yorktown.
