Swimming: Flint Hill Boys, Girls Earn Wins

Both teams defeat Georgetown Day School.

the Flint Hill School swim teams rallied Tuesday night to defeat Georgetown Day School.

The girls rolled to a cool 103-51 win, as Senior Rachel Swarts won the 200 freestyle, Sophomore Rachel Cunningham won the 50 freestyle, Freshman Ella Hamilton won the 100 freestyle, Sophomore Brittany deCamp won the 500 freestyle and Junior Catherine Swarts won the 100 breaststroke.

Sports Information Director McClain Bell said the 200 yard medley relay team of Hamilton, Junior Alana Suter, Rachel Swarts and Cunningham, the 200 yard freestyle relay team of Senior Natalie Brendsel, Hamilton, Cunningham and Rachel Swarts, and the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Rachel Swarts, Brendsel, deCamp and Cunningham also all won their events.

The boys team swam to a similar score of 102-53.

  • Senior Jonah Chang won the 200 freestyle
  • Junior Eric Tang won the 50 freestyle
  • Sophomore Wil Ciesar won the 500 freestyle. 
  • The 200 freestyle relay team of Senior Zach Thornburg, Tang, Junior Tristan Timblin and Chang, and 400 freestyle relay team of Tang, Thornburg, Timblin and Chang both also won their events. 

Both teams get some time off before their next meet at 9 a.m. Jan. 5, when they face the National Cathedral School and St. Alban's, at St. Alban's.
