Sports Notebook: Oakton Swim Program Tops District; Cougar Girls Basketball Remains Perfect

INDOOR TRACK

The Oakton High boys and girls indoor track teams stand in first place after Day 1 of the Concorde District meet. The six Concorde teams will finish the competition Feb. 2.

Three Oakton runners placed first in their races:

• Allie Klimkiewicz, 1600-meter run, 5:06.70
• Meghan Jean-Baptiste, 55-meter hurdles, 8.83
• Meghan Jean-Baptiste, high jump, 5-00.00

SWIM AND DIVE

Two Oakton High divers placed in the top six at the Concorde District finals Friday. Joe LeBerre and Andy Berger ranked second and sixth, respectively.

The Oakton swim program built on the dive team's success to put both the boys and girls teams atop the Concorde District. Nine swimmers placed first in their races to lead the swim and dive teams to district titles.
