The Oakton girl's soccer team hosted Robinson Secondary School on Thursday night. The game was a battle of defenses, and ended in a 1-1 tie after double overtime.
Oakton set the tempo early and took the lead midway through the first half after a goal from junior Alex Meyers. Robinson turned the momentum in their favor for the remainder of the half, but Oakton — lead by sweeper Erin Holden — held strong and took their one goal lead into halftime.
After Robinson tied the game in the second half, Oakton took command for the remainder of the game, but neither team could break the stalemate before regulation time ended. After two overtime periods, the teams settled for a fitting 1-1 split in the defense dominated match up.
