Seniors Matt Notarangelo placed fourth at 170 pounds and Eddie Gerow ranked seventh at 126 pounds. Notarangelo and Gerow where the only two wrestlers from Oakton to make the state championships. Their showing placed the Cougars 22nd of 128 Schools.

"Wrestling is one of the most gruelling and challenging sports in High School Athletics. It is physically and mentally demanding.  A wrestler must dedicate large amounts of time to perfect his skills and condition his body to reach the All-State level," said Frank Notarangelo. "Matt Notarangelo and Eddie Gerow are to be lauded for their achievements on the mat. Wrestling has prepared them for the rest of their lives."
