Oakton High Hosts Signing Ceremony for Two Athletes

Elizabeth Manner, Camille Igal commit to Division I programs

Before taking a break for Thanksgiving, Oakton High School celebrated two of its senior athletes with a signing ceremony to commemorate their commitment to Division I athletic programs.

Elizabeth Manner signed with Stony Brook University to play girls basketball, and Camille Igal committed to the crew program at the University of Alabama. 

Manner, a four-year varsity player, chose Stony Brook from among offers from Loyola (MD), Hartford, Robert Morris, Davidson and others. The 6'1" senior center averaged 11.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game with 10 double-doubles as a junior. In the state final win, she tallied 13 points and 16 rebounds as the Cougars won their first AAA Virginia High School League title.

Igal, who has been in the varsity boat since her sophomore year, chose Alabama from among offers from George Mason and Minnesota. Last year, she helped the crew team win the Petite Final.
