Jan. 18: TCW, Chantilly Get Tighter Grip on Top Spots in Boys Rankings
Oakton did not receive any votes
T.C. Williams and Chantilly cemented their status as the top two in the Patch Northern Region Coaches Poll, as they both went 2-0 and have started to get a little separation from the rest of the pack. Herndon also went 2-0 last week, and held onto the third slot. Annandale moved up a spot to No. 4, and Woodson, ranked eighth last week, rounds out this week’s top five.
Four of the six teams from the Concorde District are now in our top 10, as Westfield makes its first appearance at No. 9.
West Potomac continued its precipitous decline. After getting trounced by Woodson at home, the Wolverines have dropped completely out of the top 10. Edison also fell to No. 7 from No. 4 after an upset at the hands of Wakefield. Conversely, this week’s biggest riser was Yorktown, who moved to No. 5 from No. 9 and remains undefeated in the National District.
