Holiday Hoops Action: Westfield Hosts Annual High School Tournament

Play tips off Dec. 27 in annual tournament featuring top regional boys' and girls' high school teams.

Basketball fans can catch some holiday week hoops action as top boys' and girls' high school teams take part in the 12th annual Ourisman Scion Bulldog Bash Holiday Basketball Tournament.

The Bulldogs from Westfield High School — located at 4700 Stonecroft Boulevard in Chantilly — will host some of the region’s top talent for the three-day tournament on Dec. 27, 28 and 30.

In the boys' bracket, the teams are Westfield, Fairfax, Bishop Ireton (Alexandria), Patriot (Nokesville), Colonel Forge (Stafford), Briar Woods (Ashburn) and Osbourn (Manassas).

In the girls’ bracket, Westfield (champion of the 2003 and 2009 Bulldog Bash) welcomes back James Madison of Vienna (champion of the 2005 and 2011 Bulldog Bash) along with Woodbridge, West Springfield, Flint Hill (Oakton) Cannon County (Woodbury, TN), Bartram Trail (Jacksonville, FL), Roland Park Country School (Baltimore).

The tournament tips off Dec. 27, with the girls' games beginning at 9 a.m. and the boys' games beginning at 12:30 p.m. The championship games will be played on Dec. 30, with the girls at 7:30 p.m. and the boys at 9:15 p.m.

Admission is $6 per day, or a three-day pass is also available for $15. Admission is free for children under age 6, adults over age 62, participating school administrators, and any travel or house youth basketball players wearing their uniform top and accompanied by a paying adult.
