Flint Hill Golf Earns Second Straight MAC Title

Joey Lane wins his third consecutive individual conference championship

The Flint Hill School golf team earned its second straight Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship, defeating second-place St. Andrew's by 32 strokes Tuesday.

The Huskies shot 307, with St. Andrew's Episcopal and Georgetown Day School placing second and third.

Three Huskies took the top three spots, with senior Joey Lane taking his third consecutive individual MAC title with a score of 74. Will Snyder and Bryce Johnson placed second and third with scores of 76 and 77, respectively.

Nick Revilini shot 80 to tie for seventh and earn a spot on the All-MAC team with Lane, Snyder and Johnson.

"It was a cold blustery day, yet we still posted four scores that are probably the best any Flint Hill team has posted in the championship," Coach Jeff Sealy said in a statement. "The kids lived up to the pressure of repeating as MAC champion, and I credit this to hard work, focus and most importantly, they were a group that supported each other and had lots of fun in the process."

Last season the Huskies dethroned the Lions, who had won the previous four titles, by 19 strokes. Earlier this season, Sealy called their large margin of victory in 2011 an "anomaly."

But the Huskies shattered their previous point gap, defeating the Lions by 32 strokes.
