Field Hockey: Eight Cougars Make All-District Teams

The Oakton High field hockey team may have fallen short of Concorde District title, but eight girls have been recognized on All-District teams for 2012.

Four girls — Ciara Cooney, Maggie Toye, Jenn Prosser and Brooke Mustain — are first team selections. Another four — Melissa Shebat, Annalise Capalbo, Claire Weisskopf and Amanda Amraen — made the second team.

The Cougars advanced to the Concorde District Championship for the second year in a row, but fell to the Westfield Bulldogs. Regardless of the loss, the Cougars qualified for the Northern Region Tournament, where they advanced as far as the second round.
