Field Hockey: Cougars Fall to Rebels

Second-half comeback gives Fairfax win over Oakton on Friday

After holding a one-goal lead at halftime, the Oakton High field hockey team lost to the Fairfax Rebels 3-1 on Friday.

Senior Melissa Shebat, a co-captain, scored the Cougars' only goal — and the only goal scored against Fairfax this season. 

In the second half, the Rebels went on a three-goal run to take the win, improving their undefeated season to 5-0. The Cougars' record now stands at 4-4.

The Cougars' Ciara Cooney tallied 11 saves in the game.

The Cougars will travel to Woodson for a 7:30 p.m. game Wednesday.
