After the teams of Johnson/Yeh and Cary/Tyskowski each disposed of their opponents with a 10-6 final score, all eyes went court three where Ham and Kyle Delgado, making his varsity debut, battled into a tiebreaker with their Centreville foes.

"It was a fun, thrilling match for all ages," laughed Delgado, who is a senior and co-captain.

The Cougars rallied around Delgado and Ham, groaning and cheering at all the twists and turns of the match. Often leading the charge in supporting his teammates, Delgado now found his teammates returning the favor in his first varsity game.

"[Kyle] played excellent. He had a couple double faults in the tiebreaker, but he made up for it at the net and had some unbelievable volleys for some winners," teammate Michael Filapponi said.

The duo recorded the win with a score of 9-7 in the tiebreaker.

The Cougars will resume their season after spring break, traveling to Westfield for a 3:30 p.m. match April 11.
