Boys Lacrosse: Flint Hill Rallies to Advance to MAC Final

Nick Peterson's performance proved to be too much for the Quakers' defense.

With their last overtime battle on their minds, both boys lacrosse teams from Flint Hill and Sidwell Friends knew their matchup in the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal round would be a tough one.

Though the teams came into the contest very evenly matched, the Huskies started off hot with midfielder Connor Chess scoring two minutes into the first quarter, falling to his chest when a defender committed a late hit.

Midway through the first quarter, the Quakers answered with a goal of their own to even the match. Sidwell's defense proved to be stout with five saves in the first quarter, creating early problems for the Huskies.

"We challenged the offense and tried to motivate them through challenging them, and they responded very well," Coach Adam Rice said.

Huskies will face their best competition Sunday, taking on the Potomac Panthers for the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. In their first meeting this season, the Panthers proved too much for the Huskies with an 11-5 victory.
