Boys Lacrosse: Cougars Rally After Lightning Delay

Oakton advances to the second round of the Northern Region Tournament with 7-6 win

After lightning cut short the first round Concorde District Boys Lacrosse Tournament game between Oakton and Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday with the Colonials leading 5-4, the Cougars won 7-6 to advance to the second round.

The lightning delay was called with 7:19 left in the third quarter Tuesday with the Colonials poised to pull off an upset.

But the Cougars rallied when the game resumed Wednesday, tacking on three goals while holding the Colonials to one. Goalkeeper Connor Anderson made 14 total saves to help the Cougars stay close.
