Oakton High School student Ben Wang was named a regional finalist in the 2013 Siemens Competition in Math, Science, and Technology.
Wang was one of eight Fairfax County Public School students who was named a finalist.
The nationwide competition invites high school students to submit original research projects in math, science, and technology. Winners can get scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $100,000.
Wang and other regional finalists are invited to present their research to scientists and mathematicians at the national finals in DC in December.
