Marshall Elementary Students Seeing Green

Marshall Road Elementary students have started a "Green Team."

Marshall Road Elementary School’s Green Team is starting a few new projects to make the school more eco-friendly.

Some of the projects include students monitoring the amount of trash and recycled items coming from classrooms to see which classes are the best recyclers. Team members also collect unopened food items from the cafeteria that are later donated to a local food bank, according to fifth-grade teacher Mackenzie Kraus who helped start the team.

The group has blossomed from 8 members to 20 students and parents since it was founded last year.
