Oakton Elementary School PTA Silent Auction
Oakton Elementary’s PTA is proudly hosting its second Annual Fundraising Silent Auction Event on April 13, 2012. Our theme this year is “Cherry Blossoms” in recognition of the 100th anniversary of the Cherry Blossom trees planted in DC and our own personal “blooming” of our school as we enter our second and final year of building expansion and renovation.
Our current renovation project and continued Fairfax County Public Schools budget cuts have made us aware of several new areas of need, specifically the need for more advanced technology for our classrooms, additional math curriculum support material, and supplementing the language arts materials provided by FCPS . We hope to raise funds to help offset costs of purchasing an additional mobile laptop computer lab. These labs cost approximately $22,000 each. The carts include 16 laptop computers which can be moved from classroom to classroom, as needed. We would also like to purchase additional games and manipulatives to accompany our fantastic math program.
