March 28-April 3: Supervisors Deny Day Care Center, Approve Rezoning of Blake Lane Land

The Board of Supervisors  on Sutton Road again Tuesday. The applicant, James W. Jackson, has made alterations to the plan six times, all of which have been denied. In the same session, the supervisors for land off Blake Lane, allowing a project to build townhouses to move forward.

The Board of Supervisors hosted three days of public hearings on the proposed budget last week. Before the first day of hearings, several hundred parents, teachers and elected officials  in all of the county's public schools in front of the Fairfax County Government Center. Not only did the hearings include speakers in favor of more funding for schools for full-day kindergarten and increases to teachers' salaries, but county employees also .
