Police Arrest Suspect in Oakton Burglaries

A 27-year-old man has been linked to more than a dozen incidents, police say, six of them in Oakton.

Fairfax County police have arrested a man they believe robbed more than a dozen spas, nail salons, dry cleaners and other businesses in the course of the past week — six of them in Oakton.

Dennis Elliot, 27, of no fixed address, was charged with burglary on Thursday, police said in a statement. He was also charged with violating an outstanding probation.

Elliot allegedly robbed six Oakton businesses between Sunday and Monday, all of them in the 2900 block of Chain Bridge Road, police said.

He also allegedly targeted three Fairfax City businesses during the overnight hours Tuesday.

Fairfax County detectives worked with Fairfax City police to identify and locate Elliot.

Elliot is in custody of Fairfax County police. A preliminary hearing has been set for Aug. 6.
