Oakton Woman Arrested, Accused of Stealing from Macy's

Preliminary trial for Mahnaz Ghaffari, an employee since 2009, scheduled for Nov. 28

An Oakton woman was arrested last month after she was accused of stealing merchandise from Macy's in the Fair Oaks Mall, where she was employed, Fairfax County Police said.

Mahnaz Ghaffari, 43, of 11900 block of Vale Road, was arrested Sept. 20 and charged with embezzling and stealing goods with the intent to sell. Both charges are for merchandise valued at more than $200.

Fairfax County Police would not release how much the merchandise in question is valued, except to say it was worth more than $200, which makes them felonies. The Fairfax County General District Court did not have the amount on file.
