Update: Lightning Likely Cause of House Fire

Several engines respond to fire on Trenholm Drive

Update (4:15 p.m. Saturday): Bob and Sonya Mylls were present when lightning struck their Trenholm Drive home Friday night, but a neighbor knocked on their door to alert them of the upstairs fire, another neighbor said.

Soon after the Myllses evacuated their home, firefighters arrived to find fire shooting through the roof of the 3140 Trenholm Drive two-story home, the neighbor said.

"I was really impressed with the firefighters. They were calm and worked fast, really polite," a neighbor said. "I've never seen them in action before, and they were impressive."

Though the fire has the Mylls family displaced, neighbors were working to clean up the home Saturday afternoon in the first of many steps to getting the couple, who neighbors say are in their 70s, back into their home.
