Oakton Bank Robbed, Police Seek Information

An Oakton BB&T bank was robbed Wednesday, the Fairfax County Police Department disclosed Friday.

Authorities report that at about 11:30 a.m., a man entered the bank at 2941 Chain Bridge Road. He approached the teller and handed them a note demanding money and implying they had a weapon (though no weapon was seen).

An undisclosed amount of cash was handed over and the robber fled, police report. No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as between 29 to 34 years old, he was between 5 feet 9 inches, to 6 feet tall, and he wore all dark clothing. No photo of the robber has been released at this time.Β 

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the identification, arrest and conviction of this bank robber.
