Motorcyclist Dies in Crash Near Vienna Metro Stop

By Karen Goff

Fairfax County Police says a 32-year-old Reston man is dead after a motorcycle crash near the Vienna Metro station on Monday afternoon.

Officers said Jesse Dean Hagedorn of Colts Neck Road in Reston was riding his 2006 Honda motorcycle north on Virginia Center Boulevard just prior to Baronhurst Drive about 3:30 p.m.

Police are trying to determine why the motorcycle veered to the right side of the roadway, striking the curb and a guardrail. The motorcycle then struck the curb a second time, causing the rider to strike his head on an adjacent tree.

Hagedorn was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the roadway. CPR was initiated by a Good Samaritan until rescue arrived, police said.

Hagedorn was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in this crash, police said.
