For the week ending May 9, there were nine larcenies, two major incidents and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Robbery: 2900 block of Chain Bridge Road, 05/05/12 at 8:30 p.m. A 15-year-old boy was robbed of his cell phone and cash. Several suspects pushed him down from behind, took his property and fled.
Burglary: 12700 block of Somerset Lane, 05/08/12 at 3:15 p.m. Homeowner left home at 2:40 p.m. and returned at 3:15 p.m. He discovered cash and a knife missing from the home. It is unknown how entry was gained.

- 9800 Clifford Drive, sub woofers and stereo equipment stolen from residence
- 2300 Dulles Corner Boulevard, license plate stolen from vehicle
- 3200 Lake Edge Way, money, iPod and documents stolen from vehicle
- 13900 Metrotech Drive, flowers stolen from business
- 12300 Oak Creek Lane, four tires stolen from vehicle
- 10000 Oakton Terrace Road, wallet stolen from business
- 12900 Point Pleasant Drive, tools stolen from vehicle
- 10300 Granite Creek Lane, license plate stolen from vehicle
