For the week ending June 20, there were six larcenies and one major incident included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Burglary: 13000 block of Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, 6/16/12, 3:40 a.m. Officers responded for an alarm and found a business was broken into. Several alcoholic beverages were stolen.

- 4000 Cornwall Court, wallet stolen from business
- 13000 Fair Lakes Shopping Center, merchandise stolen from business
- 11700 Fair Oaks Shopping Center, cell phone stolen from business
- 4000 Fair Ridge Drive, Doppler machine stolen from business
- 10500 Rosehaven Street, stereo and television stolen from vehicle
- 10500 Rosehaven Street, iPad and financial papers stolen from vehicle
Animal Control Division
Maltreat Animal: 11900 block of Market Street, 6/19/12, 1:10 p.m. Officers were called for a dog left unattended in a car. The owner, Eugene Obrien McDougal, 68, of Reston, was charged with inadequate shelter and water. The dog was not injured.

The following Oakton residents were included in Fairfax County Police's weekly log released June 21. The names were taken from the list Fairfax County Police publishes weekly of those arrested in Fairfax County. An arrest not indicate a conviction.
