For the week ending July 11, there were three major incidents, six larcenies and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Sexual Assault: 12200 block of Pender Creek Circle, 7/5/12, 10:45 a.m. The victim was walking on the sidewalk when a man approached. He grabbed her breasts and fled.
Burglary: 9800 block of Clifford Drive, 7/6/12, 3:30 p.m. The resident reported someone entered the home and stole cash and jewelry. Forced entry was made through a rear door.

Larcenies
- 3900 Centerview Drive, gun stolen from vehicle
- 2500 Chain Bridge Road, personal documents stolen from residence
- 2900 Chain Bridge Road, merchandise stolen from business
- 12600 Fair Lakes Circle, iPhone stolen from business
- 11700 Lee Jackson Memorial, iPad and necklace stolen from business
- 3900 Plum Run, purse stolen from vehicle
Vehicle Theft
- 4200 Summit Manor Court, 2007 Honda motorcycle
