For the week ending Aug. 1, there were two larcenies, one major incident, and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.
Major Incident — Fair Oaks

Unlawful Entry: 9800 block of Clifford Drive, 7/29/12, 3:20 a.m. The residents returned home and heard noises upstairs. They went outside, called the police and waited. They saw two suspects flee the home. Nothing was stolen. Entry was made through an unlocked door.
Larcenies

- 3000 Centreville Road, several cases of drinks from business
- 10800 Tradewind Drive, cash and cell phone from vehicle
Vehicle Theft
- 12300 Oak Creek Lane, 2007 Honda CBR600 Motorcycle
Animal Control Division — Countywide
Animal Bite: 4500 block of Rachael Manor Drive, 7/27/12, noon. The 35-year-old victim reported she was jogging home when two dogs running at large approached and one bit her. She received minor injuries and the 6-year-old German Shepherd was routinely quarantined.
Animal Cruelty: 8000 block of Tysons Corner Center, 7/27/12, 12:45 p.m. Officers were called for a dog left unattended in a car. A Hound-Shepherd mix was found dehydrated in the vehicle. Animal Control Officers took possession of the dog and filed an Unfit Owner Petition. Additional charges are pending.
