Fair Oaks Police Log: July 12-18

A summary of the latest incidents reported

For the week ending July 18, there were three major incidents, six larcenies and three vehicle thefts included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Major Incidents — Fair Oaks

Burglary: 9300 block of Branch Side Lane, 7/17/12, 10:15 p.m. A resident reported someone broke into the home and stole laptop computers. Forced entry was made through a rear window.

Sex Offence: 13900 block of Metrotech Drive, 7/17/12, 8:35 p.m. The victim reported a man took pictures of her while she was in a fitting room trying on clothes. The suspect fled and she was not injured.

Sexual Assault: Country Creek Road/Shawn Leigh Drive, 7/18/12, 6:50 p.m. The 33-year-old victim was walking home when a man approached from behind. He reached up under her dress and grabbed her buttocks. He fled and she was not injured.

  • 13900 Metrotech Drive, car keys from vehicle
  • 13900 Metrotech Drive, credit card from business
  • 11200 Waples Mill Road, brass from business

Vehicle Thefts

  • 3000 Mission Square Drive, Kawasaki Motorcycle
  • 4400 Oakdale Crescent Court, Ford Mustang
  • 12200 Pender Creek Circle, Ford Escape

Animal Control Division — Countywide

Inadequate Care: 13800 block of Metrotech Drive, 7/14/12, 6 p.m. Animal Control officers were called for a dog left unattended in a vehicle. Hugo Ortega was charged with providing inadequate care of a companion animal.
