Fair Oaks Police Log: Feb. 2-8

A summary of the latest incidents reported

For the week ending Feb. 8, there were five major incidents, seven larcenies and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Sexual Assault: Police are searching for a man who allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl around 6:20 a.m. Wednesday, February 8.

The teen was walking to catch her school bus near the intersection of Fair Lakes Parkway and Monument Drive when a man allegedly followed her, made comments of a sexual nature and touched her inappropriately. She told police that she had previously seen this individual in the bushes near the bus stop.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 30-39 years old, around 5-feet, 6-inches tall, and around 160 pounds. He wore a black jacket and had black hair styled into spikes.

Robbery: 3600 block of Joseph Siewick Drive, 2/3/12, about midnight. A man was taken to the hospital by friends. An officer was called to investigate because the victim had been shot in the leg. The victim told the officer another man attempted to rob him. The victim was shot in the struggle.

Burglary: 12700 block of Pond Crest Lane, 2/6/12, about midnight. A woman was awakened by a noise in her laundry room. She let her two dogs out of her bedroom; they growled at someone in the laundry room who immediately left the house. Nothing was taken.

Burglary/Destruction: 2700 block of Equus Court, 2/7/12, after 10 p.m. The 21-year-old victim reported that someone entered his home, destroyed his television, and took his laptop computer.

Burglary: 13300 Tuckaway Drive, 2/8/12, 10:30 a.m. The victim reported someone entered her home and stole jewelry. There was damage to the front door.

  • 12300 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, skateboard stolen from business
  • 11200 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, computer stolen from business

Vehicle Theft

  • 12100 Fairfax Towne Center, 2010 Toyota Corolla


Animal Control Division

Animal Bite: 1500 Park Glen Court, 2/6/12, 2 p.m. The victim was walking near the golf course when she saw a cat. She thought the cat was one listed as missing from the neighborhood. The cat bit the victim and ran off. The victim received minor injuries.
