Fair Oaks Police Log: Feb. 16-22

A summary of the latest incidents reported

For the week ending Feb. 2, there were two major incidents and nine larcenies included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Burglary: 12500 block of Manderley Way, 2/19/12, early morning hours. The homeowner reported a purse stolen.

Burglary: 13300 block of Glen Taylor Lane, 2/20/12, early morning hours. The homeowner reported a purse and wallet stolen.

Larcenies

  • 11200 James Swart Circle, wallet from vehicle
  • 13200 Leafcrest Lane, radio from vehicle
  • 12300 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, wallet from vehicle
  • 12300 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, electronic tablet/pad from school
  • 3700 Millpond Court, jewelry from residence
  • 3900 Penderview Drive, CD player from vehicle
  • 12900 Ridgemist Lane, cash from residence
  • 13100 Ruby Lace Court, license plates from vehicle
  • 4700 West Ox Road, wine from business

Animal Control Division — Countywide

Dog At Large/Bite: 8700 block of Potomac Hills Street, 2/18/12, 11:30 a.m. The 36-year-old victim was running on a trail when he allegedly came upon Joel Fifield with his children and dog running at large. The dog bit the victim causing minor injury. Fifield was charged with having an unlicensed dog and the dog was routinely quarantined.

Dog At Large/Bite: 9100 block of Lake Braddock Drive, 2/18/12, 6 p.m. The victim was walking her dog on a leash on a trail when allegedly a dog owned by Gloria Burns, 29, of Burke attacked the victim and her dog. Burns was charged with having an unlicensed dog and the dog was routinely quarantined.

Animal License Violation: 5900 block of North Kings Highway, 02/19/12, noon. An animal control officer responded for the report of possible cruelty to a dog. No evidence of cruelty was found, however, the owner could not produce required documents and was issued a summons. Sean Andrade, 21, of Alexandria, was charged with having no county dog license.

Animal License Violation: 8200 block of Stationhouse Court, 02/19/12, 3:10 p.m. An animal control officer responded for the report of maltreatment of dogs. No such violation was found, however, the pet owner, Luz Grijalva, 49, of Lorton, was written two summonses charging her with no rabies certificate and no county dog license.

Animal License Violation: 7500 block of Republic Court, 2/19/12, 9:30 p.m. Animal Control Officers were called to check on the welfare of a dog. Ryan Menton, 25, of Alexandria was charged with having an unlicensed dog.
