Fair Oaks Police Log: Dec. 27 to Jan. 2

A summary of the latest incidents reported to the Fairfax County Police Department.

For the week ending Jan. 2, there was one major incident, seven larcenies and a vehicle theft listed on the Fair Oaks District Activity Report.

ROBBERY ABDUCTION, SIMPLE ASSAULT, TELEPHONE THREATS, At 7:57 p.m. Jan. 1, a 39-year-old woman called police for help after a domestic situation escalated on Autumn Vale Court. The victim tried to leave her boyfriend’s residence during an argument but he reportedly held her against her will. He then assaulted the victim before she was able to leave the home. During the altercation, the suspect allegedly took the victim’s cell phone by force. The victim ran to a nearby business and called police. An investigation led to the arrest of Santos Mauricio Amaya Portillo, 23, of Autumn Vale Court in Chantilly. He was charged with abduction, robbery, simple assault and telephone threats.

VEHICLE THEFT

  • BMW 318 from Sutton Road

ANIMAL WELFARE, COUNTYWIDE: At 7:50 p.m. Dec. 24 in the 5700 block of Cedar Walk, Animal Control Officers checked on the welfare of two dogs. The conditions were satisfactory for the dogs. The owner, Ho Kang, 32, of Centreville, however, was charged for not having a current rabies vaccination nor dog license. 

ANIMAL BITE: At 4:30 p.m. Dec. 27 on Edgehill Court/Drive, a 46-year-old victim reported she was bitten by a cat. She was not seriously injured and Animal Control officers are searching for the white and cream domestic, long-haired cat.
