Fair Oaks Police Log: April 5-11

A summary of the latest incidents reported

For the week ending April 11, there were eight larcenies and one major incident included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Burglary: 12300 block of Cannonball Road, 4/11/12, 6:30 p.m. The homeowner returned to find a rear door smashed. Someone entered the home and stole jewelry.

Larcenies

  • 2900 Brians Hill Lane, cutlery set from residence
  • 13000 Fair Lakes Shopping Center, camera from business
  • 12300 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, jewelry from business
  • 11100 Lee Highway, gaming system controller from business
  • 13900 Metrotech Drive, cash from business
  • 12300 Ox Road, BB gun and pellet rifle from residence
  • 3000 Regents Tower Street, tires from vehicle

Animal Control Division

Animal Bite: 5900 block of One Penny Drive, 4/8/12, 12:30 p.m. Animal Control officers responded for a reported dog bite. The suspect dog, a Yellow Labrador Retriever, allegedly was running at large and attacked a neighbor dog. The victim was attempting to separate the two dogs and was bitten. The Yellow Lab was routinely quarantined for 10 days.

Animal Bite: 10700 block of Almond Street, 4/9/12, 1:30 p.m. Officers responded for a Rottweiler that got out of his yard and attacked an 82-year-old Fairfax woman. The victim was transported with non-life threatening injuries. The dog was turned over to the shelter. (Read more on our Facebook page)

Animal Bite: 2100 block of Wolftrap Court, 4/10/12, 6:30 p.m. The victim reported a dog bit him in the buttocks while retrieving a basketball. The dog was taken by Animal Control officers and routinely quarantined at the shelter.
