Fair Oaks Police Log: April 26-May 2

A summary of the latest incidents reported

For the week ending May 2, there were three larcenies, three major incidents and one vehicle theft included in the Fair Oaks District Activity Report. Fair Oaks District encompasses Oakton.

Major Incidents — Fair Oaks District

Robbery: 3900 block of Fair Ridge Drive, 4/27/12, 8:20 p.m. The victim reported two men demanded master keys to the building. When she said no, one of them struck her. They fled with the keys and her cell phone. She was treated for minor injuries. 

Burglary: 2300 block of Concert Court, 4/28/12, 7:30 a.m. The homeowner reported someone entered and stole a purse and wallet off the counter. Force entry was possibly made through the garage door.

Burglary: 3300 block of Bywater Court, 4/29/12, 5 p.m. The homeowner reported her purse and laptop computer were stolen from the counter in the home. Entry was possibly made through the patio door.

Larcenies

  • 13000 Fair Lakes Shopping Center, candy from business
  • 4500 Market Commons Drive, wallet from business
  • 13000 Fair Lakes Shopping Center, perfume from a business

Vehicle Theft

  • 11900 Grand Commons Avenue, Ford Escape

Animal Control — Countywide

Animal Cruelty: 2600 block of Centreville Road, 4/26/12, 10 a.m. Officer were called reference several injured horses. (Read news release.

Animal Cruelty: Leesburg Pike/Magnolia Avenue, 4:45 p.m. Officers were called for a dog being held out a window of a moving vehicle. Valdemar Romero, 21, of Falls Church, was charged with cruelty to animals. 

Animal Bite: 2800 block of Chapel Street, 4/28/12, 2 p.m. The victim was walking her dog when a stray dog began quarreling with her dog. She was bit separating the dogs which were not injured. 

Animal Bite: 2500 block of Glengyle Drive, 05/01/12, 1:52 p.m. The victim was walking down a sidewalk, encountered a dog walker walking a Great Dane. The dog jumped up and bit the victim who was eventually transported to a local hospital for a minor injury. The dog was quarantined and the owner contacted. The owner was charged with having an unlicensed dog.
