UPDATE (6:50 p.m.): Both lanes on westbound Blake Lane are open, though police have blocked the right lane in the area around the broken pole, which is just west of Hibbard Street. Cars will have to merge into the left lane for that portion of the road.
Dominion Virginia Power expects work to replace the pole to last three to four hours, said spokesperson Le-Ha Anderson.
UPDATE (5:50 p.m.): Dominion Virginia Power said though they have crews en route to replace a pole damaged in this afternoon's accident, they do not currently have customers without power nor do they expect outages as a result of the repairs, a company spokesperson said.
Wires down at the scene do not belong to Dominion Virginia Power, the spokesperson said.
A white Ford Ranger has "snapped" a pole after an accident on Blake Lane on Thursday afternoon, according to an initial report from Fairfax County Police.
The single-vehicle accident on westbound Blake Lane near Hibbard Street, called into police at 4:06 p.m., has snarled traffic in both directions, with police closing the road for at least two hours.
An alert from Fairfax County said power lines were down, though a Dominion Virginia Power interactive outage map shows no outages in the area. Dominion Virginia Power has not yet responded to requests for comment.
