Oakton’s Vale United Methodist Church Christmas Christmas tree sale helped them buy 50,000 meals for the hungry.

They sold 410 trees to support Stop Hunger Now, a global relief organization that provides meals to families all over the world.

The church is now asking for volunteers to help package and prepare the meals for delivery.

The event is on Jan. 26. The packaging will be broken up into two sessions: from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the church on 11528 Vale Road in Oakton.

Those interested in volunteering can sign up at www.valechurch.org (click on the Stop Hunger Now link). Or contact Steve Miska at smiska2011@gmail.com.
