Project HEAL and Alex and Ani Team Up to Spread Love and Positive Energy

Fairfax, Virginia, (February 24, 2014) – Local Northern Virginia (NOVA) Project HEAL Chapter partners with famed jewelry designers, Alex and Ani for a Charmed by Charity Event in Fairfax, VA on February 24 to raise money for people with eating disorders who cannot afford treatment. Promoting healthy lifestyles and positive outlooks on life is something both organizations are passionate about. With 15% of the evening’s proceeds going to Project HEAL’s cause and promoting healthy body image, this local event is sure to save lives and inspire others. 

This exciting Charmed by Charity Event coincides with National Eating Disorder Awareness Week, beginning February 23 and the NOVA Project HEAL Chapter is looking forward to sharing the message that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible.One of the chapter founders for the NOVA Project HEAL Chapter, Lynn Romano, is excited for this collaboration as it is the first ever fundraising event for this chapter. Mosaic District just opened last fall so it’s still a new and exciting site in Merrifield. This hip new shopping center will draw in quite the crowd with its continually growing familiarity within the area. This shopping center is so new that customers may not even realize what is offered within the shopping center, but they will be in for a treat when they stumble upon Alex and Ani’s event with Project HEAL.

The Alex and Ani team is passionate about promoting love and positive energy through their unique and symbolic jewelry pieces. This exciting collaboration with Alex and Ani will raise funds for Project HEAL to assist in providing their services of funding financial assistance grants for those who have an eating disorder but cannot afford the proper treatment. Project HEAL was founded by two teenaged girls in recovery from anorexia. Since the organization’s founding in 1998, Project HEAL and its local chapters have helped raise over $300,000 for the cause.Project HEAL: Help to Eat, Accept and Live is a 501©3 not-for-profit organization in the United States and a federal not-for-profit organization under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act (NFP ACT). Scholarships are provided to fund people with eating disorders who cannot afford treatment, promote healthy body image and self-esteem, and serve as a testament that full recovery from an eating disorder is possible (theprojectheal.org). With the joining forces of Project HEAL and Alex and Ani, who has a mission of assisting other organizations in reaching its goals through the power of positive energy and creative design (alexandani.com), both organizations can do their part in bettering the lives of the community around us!
