Lenten "Quiet Day" Retreat at Vale United Methodist Church
On Saturday, March 22, all are invited to come and spend some quiet time with God, while in community with others, at a Lenten "Quiet Day" Retreat hosted by Vale United Methodist Church in Oakton. The retreat will begin at 10:00am and close at 2:00pm.
Led by Rev. Betsy Caudill, the Arlington District Program Coordinator for the United Methodist Church, the retreat will be structured around the spiritual practice of Lectio Divina (“divine reading” or “praying the Scriptures”).
After a time together of orientation, retreatants will have time twice during the day to find a quiet nook for praying gently through an assigned Scripture text, with helpful instructions. Lunch will be provided; the group will dine together. The retreat will close with another time of group gathering.

Parcitipants should wear comfortable, casual clothes and shoes. There will be some time to spend outside in nature, weather permitting, or simply resting. Bring your favorite journal or a floor pillow, if you’d like. Explore ways in which to unclutter your life and make time to be nurtured by God.
