Diasporas and International Development: The In-Between Advantage

This meeting is part of the Global Affairs Discussion Group (GADG), a secular group in the UUCF.  We meet in rooms 2 and 3 of the Programs Building on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.  All are welcome!

We have a speaker on the first Wednesday, and free discussion of national and global topics of interest on the third Wednesday.

Our speaker this week will be Jennifer Brinkerhoff, PH.D. Professor of Public Administration and International Affairs at GWU.

Immigrants who retain a strong connection to their country of origin often feel they live "in-between": they are neither wholly "American", nor are they still wholly Egyptian, Ethiopian, or Chadian (for example). Come and learn what the potential comparative advantages are for such individuals to contribute to meaningful change in their countries of origin.
